St. Augustine Vision Trip

December 5-9, 2022

Inviting all St. Augustine Parishioners to join Fr. Vigoa on a Vision Trip to the Dominican Republic. We'll be spending time with people who have received the gift of clean water and sanitation through BLUE Missions and deepening our faith as we reflect on our call to serve others.

 

Vision Trip Cost: $1,900

What’s included?

  • round trip airfare from miami to Dominican republic

  • lodging at retreat center in jarabacoa

  • all group transportation in country

  • breakfast, lunch and dinner daily

  • travel insurance provided by inext

  • experienced staff and leaders to guide the group

  • FUNDING FOR THE MATERIAL AND LABOR COST FOR THE LATRINES GROUP WILL BE CONSTRUCTING

TRIP OVERVIEW*:

DECEMBER 5:
Fly to the Dominican Republic. Upon arrival, drive to Jarabacoa and settle in retreat house. Dinner & introduction to BLUE Missions.

DECEMBER 6:
Wake up, prayer/reflection, breakfast. Drive to a community to see the impact of a water project on the locals. Immerse in the culture of the community, understand the technical details of the project, have lunch, celebrate mass, and connect with beneficiaries. Return home to rest and shower. Dinner.

DECEMBER 7:
Wake up, prayer/reflection breakfast. Drive to another community to assist in the construction of a few ventilated improved pit latrines. Celebrate mass with the community. Return home to shower. Dinner.

DECEMBER 8:
Wake up, prayer/reflection breakfast. Visit an orphanage to celebrate mass, pray and share together with the children. Return home to rest, shower and eat dinner.

DECEMBER 9:
Wake up, final impressions, breakfast. Depart Jarabacoa to BLUE Headquarters in Santiago de los Caballeros. Tour of BLUE HQ and lunch. Drive to airport to fly home.
