BUILDING SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES

Spend seven days in the Dominican Republic working alongside local communities to turn organic waste into a resource through composting and hands on environmental action.

Sustainability Service Trips combine community partnership, environmental education, and practical solutions that help reduce waste while creating nutrient rich compost that can benefit local families and communities.

WHAT YOU’LL HELP BUILD

BLUE’s sustainability projects help communities divert organic waste from homes and watershed areas and transform it into nutrient rich fertilizer.

Depending on the project, volunteers may help build and support community composting systems, prepare materials, sort organic waste, and support the composting process alongside local residents.

The work is completed alongside community members, local partners, and BLUE’s team as part of a larger effort to create practical sustainability solutions that can continue long after the trip ends.

A Sustainability Service Trip is designed to bring volunteers close to both the work and the people behind it.
