Global Water Action Event Proposal

Are you ready to take action on one of the world’s most pressing challenges? High school students will become changemakers by designing a Community Event Proposal that addresses a global water issue with local impact.

From water scarcity and pollution to climate resilience and equitable access, this project challenges you to think globally and act locally.

What You’ll Do:

  • Choose a global water-related issue (e.g., access to clean water, water pollution, climate-related water stress).

  • Explore the impact this issue has on people and the environment. Research how water insecurity affects human health, ecosystems, and local economies.

  • Identify the regions or populations most affected. Use credible sources to find real-world examples of communities facing these challenges.

  • Investigate potential solutions. Look into current efforts, including technologies, policies, or community initiatives, that are helping to alleviate the problem.

  • Design a local event or campaign that connects this global issue to your school or community. Your goal is to raise awareness, educate others, and inspire meaningful action. Your event could be something like:

    • A Water Awareness Week at school featuring guest speakers, interactive displays, and student-led presentations.

    • A local waterway cleanup and outreach event tied to the issue of global pollution and its environmental impacts.

  • Be sure to include a clear plan that outlines your event’s purpose, target audience, logistics, budget, and expected outcomes.
