University Trip

Type of Project:
Gravity Driven Water System

Province:
Puerto Plata

Project Reach:
80 families

Volunteers:
25

Project Materials:
- 4230 meters of pipe
- 46 m3 tank

Field Notes:
This project was very cool because many of the volunteers were veterans returning for their second or third trip. They had already had an immersion experience in the past and were motivated to continue serving. This group was simply amazing. Day in and day out they were motivated to truly live in the moment, whether that meant walking several kilometers to distribute pipe or our daily river baths. Scared and anxious to start their freshman or sophomore year of college, this group learned to disconnect from their lives back at home and connect with the community, the mountains, and the experience.
