Your Go-To Guide to raising the funds to pay for your trip

Idea 1: Send out letters to your friends, families, teachers, neighbors, local businesses, coaches, etc. You can edit one of our sample volunteer letter templates or write a more personal one. Pick one that works for you, edit it, print it, give them out and watch how the money rolls in!

Idea 2: Start a GoFund Me Account. We have seen previous volunteers start successful campaigns to raise enough funds to go on a trip. We hope the next successful campaign is you! Don't know what to write? Check out an example GoFund Me Page. Once you set it all up, email us the link and we will help
you promote it!

Idea 3: Host a bake sale at your school, church, sports games, etc. Set a date, bake some cookies, cupcakes and brownies and start selling. Even if you make $50 at the first bake sale, that's one step closer to reaching the goal.

Idea 4: Go to Chipotle, Lime, California Pizza Kitchen, Panera, Sushi Maki, etc. and ask if you can host a fundraiser. They will give you anywhere from 10-20% of the bill. The more people who attend the event, the more you make.

Idea 5: Is your birthday anytime soon? Ask for donations towards your trip payment instead of gifts. You'll be surprised at how much you will collect from aunts, uncles, grandparents, neighbors, and friends.

Idea 6: Host a garage sale. Do some spring cleaning around the house, in your closet and garage. Sell some items that you haven't used or seen in ages. Ask your grandparents, cousins, and friends to donate items to your garage sale to raise even more money. Pro tip: do you have clothes that you've barely worn? Take them to Plato's Closet and they will give you money for it.
